Chapter 1 – Rusty Lake : Roots Full Walkthrough & Guide

James

Click on the letter in James’ front pocket and open it to get the password hint “572”. Then open the box on the ground and take the “Bone” and the “Seed” from inside. Give the bone to the dog and plant the seed in the hole. Take the “Watering Can” on the right. Fill the watering can with water from the well and pour it on the seed. Once done, click on James to proceed to the next level.

The House

Break the “Branch” on the left tree seedling. Take the “Diamond” from the flowerpot and the “Insect” from outside the pot. Move the stool to James’ feet and click on the stool. Give the branch to James.

Use the branch to poke the bird’s nest. Click on the bird’s egg multiple times to reveal a baby bird. Feed the baby bird with the insect. Take the “Diamond” from the bird’s nest. Then click on the window and break the glass to obtain the final “Diamond”. Place the three diamonds in the slots on the door, open the door, and enter the next level.

The Uncle

Tear open the portrait and take the “Key” from the frame. Use the key to open the drawer of the cabinet on the right. Take the “Axe” and “Matches” from the drawer. Use the axe to split the stump into “Wood”. Place the wood in the fireplace and use the matches to light it. Take the black “Key” from the top left corner of the fireplace.

Use the key to unlock the lock on the window and then open the window. Take note of the clue. Click on the cabinet on the left and open it according to the clue to reveal a pocket watch. Open the pocket watch and note the time “08:25”. Adjust the clock hands to 08:25 and click on the clock multiple times to reveal a male corpse. Then click on the small sun on the right side of the uncle and take the “Heart”. Place the heart in the bottle on the cabinet and proceed to the next level.

The Stairs

Observe the clues on the note, book, and picture frame. Open the cabinet based on the positions of the drawn patterns:

Once completed, take the “Telescope” from the cabinet. Open the window and use the telescope to get a clue.

Arrange the statues on the bookshelf according to the clue “Rabbit, Dove, Boar, Crow, Deer, Bird”. Move the books on the top and bottom shelves accordingly, following the patterns on the books, to the correct positions. Activate the mechanism and click on the revealed secret door to enter the next level.

Elixir of Life and Death

Potion 1+ Potion 2=Potion3 and by analogy

Observe the clues on the wall frames. Use the balance scale to find the bottles representing 3, 4, and 5. Then, according to the clues, drop the liquids into the right-side bottle. Obtain the “Elixir of Immortality”. Then, drop the elixir into the dog’s bowl and the cup. Once done, proceed to the next level.

The Vigil Keeper

Open the coffin and complete the hand game to obtain the “Eye”.

Take the “Coin” behind the bottle and click the button below to complete the puzzle and get another “Coin”. Place the two coins on the eyes of the corpse to obtain the second “Eye”. Proceed to the right.

Assemble the broken statue and place the eyes on the statue. Open the hidden compartment at the base of the statue to get the “Knife”. Use the knife to cut James’ tongue and place it in the bottle. James’ chapter is now completed.

Finding Love

Take the “handkerchief” from the man’s chest pocket and the “rose” from the flowerpot. Give the rose to Mary and use the handkerchief to wipe away the blood from her nose. Then, take the feather from the crow and give the feather and handkerchief to James to obtain the “love letter.” Finally, give the love letter to Mary.

Take the “worm” from the bench behind Mary. Give the worm to the crow and take the “key” from the branch. Use the key to open the cabinet and take the “ring.” Give the ring to Mary and proceed to the next level.

Childbirth

Take the “pestle” and “spoon” from the cabinet, and open the drawer to get the “scissors.” Cut the “plant” above the wine barrel with the scissors, then use the pestle to grind it into powder. Use the spoon to collect the powder and give it to Mary. Use the scissors to cut the umbilical cord during childbirth. Finally, take the “placenta” and click on the baby crib to get the “faucet.”

Feed the placenta to the puppy to get the “key.” Use the key to open the cabinet and get three “baby bottles.” Open the window and use one of the baby bottles to collect rainwater. Attach the faucet to the wine barrel and use another baby bottle to fill it with wine. Finally, give the baby bottles to the three babies (milk, rain, wine) according to the notes on the cabinet. Proceed to the next level.

Children’s Game

Take the “marble” from the flowerpot on the left and the “bottle cap” from behind the flowerpot on the right. Also, obtain the “honey” and “branch” from the tree. Apply honey to the bottom of the bottle cap and take the “elastic band” from Emma’s head. Give the branch, marble, and elastic band to Samuel. Use the slingshot to shoot the butterfly when it lands on Emma’s head. Click on the butterfly when it falls into the bottle.

Seal the bottle with the bottle cap and interact with Albert and Emma. Use the slingshot to shoot down the beehive when Albert falls down. When Mr. Crow appears, click on him multiple times. Proceed to the next level.

Fertility

Use the bees to cross-pollinate different types of flowers. Eventually, obtain four different flowers in the flowerpot. Place the four flowers in front of Emma in the flowerpot and click on it to reveal a new flower. Then, click on Emma’s belly. Complete the level and proceed to the next one.

Swing

Take the “knife” from Albert’s chest pocket and carve a smiley face on the pumpkin. Take the “pumpkin head.” Give the pumpkin head to Albert and receive the “key.” Use the key to open the cabinet and get the “teddy bear’s head.” Also, take the “arm” of the teddy bear from the bottom right corner of the cabinet. Attach the head and arm to the teddy bear and give it to Frank.

Help Frank swing on the swing (drag to the top right corner), then take the “teddy bear” from the ground. Give the teddy bear to Frank and click on Albert. Proceed to the next level.

Search

Take the “ink” from the shrine on the left and the first “note” from behind it. Find the second “note” behind the wall frame on the right. Finally, take the third “note” from behind the wall frame. Place the three notes on the table and assemble them.

Use the telescope to find points A, B, C, and D, and remember their corresponding coordinates: “A4/B62/C35/D33.” Calculate the password using the hint “B+C+D–A” to get “126.” Enter the password to open the cabinet and take the “stamp.” Pour the ink into the ink pad and use the stamp on the letter. Then, place the letter in the “mail tube.” Hang the mail tube on the parrot’s neck on the windowsill. Proceed to the next level.

Painting

Observe the flowerpot and take the “shell” and “key” from behind it. Remove the “stem piece” from the plant in the left flowerpot. Use the key to open the cabinet and get the “paintbrush” and “bottle.” Also, pick up the red “fruit” from under the tree. Click on the crack on the tree and use the bottle to collect the dripping “resin.” Then, take the “pestle” from the table. Crush the shell, fruit, and stem piece with the pestle and mix them with the resin. Place the obtained pigments on the palette. Finally, paint the corresponding colors according to the flowers.

Chapter 3 – Rusty Lake : Roots Full Walkthrough & Guide

Clock

Collect the “gear,” “saw,” and “glue” from around the table. Then, click on the poster on the wall and take the “gear” from behind it. Remember the hints on both sides.

Give the saw to Samuel and adjust the direction of the saw based on the shape on the blueprint. Click on the saw to combine the two wooden boards and glue them together. Once complete, take the “gear” from the table. Then, open the window and take the final “gear.” Place the wooden boards and gears into the clock.

Cover the clock with its lid and set the time to “03:30.” Then, take the “pipe” from Ida’s hand outside the window. Give the pipe to Samuel and click on the pocket on his chest to obtain the “matches.” Light the pipe and proceed to the next level.

Fortune Teller

Observe the dolls appearing in three different places and find their corresponding symbols. The three dolls on the table represent “Queen, Death, Devil.” The doll on the tree represents “Hanged Man.” The doll in the crack of the tree trunk represents “Hermit.” Then, enter the tent.

Click on the table and match the symbols on the cards with the corresponding dolls. The arrangement should be as follows:

Once completed, you will receive a “key.” Use this key to open the cabinet and obtain the “crystal ball.” Then, give the crystal ball to Ida and observe it for new hints. Arrange the cards in the order shown on the drawing. Once completed, proceed to the next level.

Wedding Photo

Take the three “hats” from the hanger. Click on the left cabinet and observe the pattern in the middle. Click on the black and white squares in the upper and lower rows based on the pattern’s colors and number of sides. Once completed, obtain a “hat.”

Move to the right side and click on the cabinet to complete the puzzle and take the final hat. Place the hats on their corresponding heads. Once completed, click on the camera to take a photo and proceed to the next level.

Family Band

Take the two “sheet music fragments” from the pocket, then move to the right and take the “sheet music fragment” from behind the table. Assemble the sheet music fragments inside the frame on the wall and play the instruments of the four people according to the sheet music. Once completed, remove Emma’s “tooth” and place it in the water bottle. Proceed to the next level.

War Hero

A Part: Red Dove, White Dove, Green Dove

B Part: Red Dove, Green Dove

C Part: White Dove

D Part: Blue Dove, Red Dove, White Dove, Green Dove

Click on the note on the ground and adjust the positions of the doves based on the colored routes on the map. For example, A Part requires three doves, so adjust their positions to pass through point A.

Once completed, you will receive four motorcycle parts. Then, assemble the parts on the motorcycle according to the blueprint. Once completed, click on Leonard to proceed to the next level.

Trench

Take the “wooden bowl” and “table leg” from the left table, then click on Leonard to attach the wooden bowl and table leg to his right leg.

Take the “key” from Leonard’s pocket on the left chest and use it to open the drawer of the right cabinet to obtain the “pliers.” Then, open the upper drawer to get the “scissors.” Use the scissors to cut the sleeve and pant leg on Leonard’s left side. Use the pliers to remove the bullet from his left arm, then click on his left leg to cover all the bloodstains with band-aids. Once completed, click on Leonard’s eye to enter a memory and pick up the grenades from the ground multiple times.

After Mr. Crow appears, obtain the “key” and use it to open the box in the memory to get the “gas mask.” Put on the gas mask and continue to collect grenades. Once the shadow appears, complete the puzzle to receive a hint. Return to the present and open the box on the right cabinet to get the “foot.” Place the foot in the bottle to complete this level.

Chapter 4 – Rusty Lake : Roots Full Walkthrough & Guide

Well 1

Take the “sharpening stone” next to the teddy bear on the left and remove the head of the teddy bear to obtain the “rope” inside. Then, click on the railing to reveal a hand holding berries. Use the knife to puncture the hand and give the berries to Frank. Next, take the tree branch left by Frank and click on the paper airplane to lower the bucket.

Albert will appear at the well.

Place the tree branch and rope next to the bucket and arrange them according to the symbols on the well wall. Then, give the water and fish obtained to Frank and take the “fishbone” left by Frank. Place the fishbone next to the bucket to complete the arrangement and obtain the “wooden stick.” Give the wooden stick to Frank and move into the bucket to proceed to the next level.

Bathroom

Start by breaking the mirror and take the “key” from the top right corner. Use the key to open the drawer and take the “matches” and “coal” from inside. Place the coal in the stove and light it with the matches. Then, take the “bucket” from the stove and fill it with water from the left basin. Place the bucket back on the stove to boil the water, and finally pour the boiled water into the bathtub.

Click on the window and move the wooden plank on the right window to cover the gap in the glass. Take the “key” from Frank’s hand and use it to open the drawer, obtaining the “scissors.” Use the scissors to cut Frank’s hair, then place the hair in the glass bottle. Enter the bottle to proceed to the next level.

Stars

Take the “bird feed” and “card” from the table. Open the right window and place the bird feed in the bird feeder. Harvey will appear, take the “letter” from the mailbox and give it to Frank. Then, take the “card” from behind the middle portrait. Move to the right and click on the portrait to reveal a roulette wheel. Rotate the roulette wheel to align the central pattern with the mark at six o’clock. Once completed, a ladder will appear. Next, take the third “card” from the wall, then enter the attic.

Place the three cards and connect the stars based on the patterns on the cards. Then, connect the stars based on the hints in the portraits. Once completed, obtain the “lens.” Place the lens on the letter in Frank’s hand to receive the hint “LOVE.” Enter the password to open the box and obtain the “pocket watch.” Finally, place the pocket watch around Frank’s neck and proceed to the next level.

Treasure

Take the “shovel” next to Leonard and complete the mini-game on the table to obtain a “grasshopper.” Find an “insect” inside the tree hollow.

Place the insect on the ground and move it based on the hints on the note (e.g., place the frog on the stone, click three times, then place the insect on the frog’s position, click three times, and place the grasshopper on the insect’s position). Repeat this process to obtain the final point. Use the shovel to dig the soil and obtain a “pocket watch.” Place the pocket watch around Leonard’s neck and proceed to the next level.

Masks

Take the “blue mask” from the stand and put it on Albert’s head. Then, open the window and take the “water bottle” from the right cabinet. Place the water bottle on the windowsill to collect rainwater. Pour the water into the pipe to obtain the “key.” Use the key to open the cabinet and obtain the “white mask.”

Replace the mask and obtain the “icicle” near the window. Use the icicle in the water pipe on the right to obtain another “key.”

Use the key to open the cabinet and obtain the “binoculars.” Use the binoculars to observe outside the window while changing masks. Based on the obtained hints, open the secret compartment in the cabinet to obtain the “moon mask.” Replace the mask and use the binoculars again to observe outside the window, obtaining the password “5231.” Enter the password to open the box and obtain the “butterfly.” Finally, place the butterfly on the stand, click on Albert to kill the butterfly, and proceed to the next level.

Lying Game

“The code for this lock ends with 94.”

Through investigation, it is determined that Ida and Albert are lying (there is no key under the newspaper, and Albert has Ida’s photo in his pocket). Therefore, the password for the box is “3794.” Find a “key” and a “card” based on the content of the cards. Use the key to open the window and obtain the second “card.” Enter the password to open the box and obtain the third “card.”

Distribute the cards to the respective people based on the hints, and check the window. Take the “skull” outside the window and place it on Albert’s head. The chapter is completed.

Chapter 5 – Rusty Lake : Roots Full Walkthrough & Guide

Take the “pipe” from Samuel’s mouth and use the pipe to light the “candle” on the table. Then, click on the doll in Albert’s right hand and arrange its arms according to the image. Use the candle to light the doll. Take the “key” that falls to the ground from the dropped oil lamp, and use the key to open the box to obtain a “pin.” Finally, insert the pin into the chest of the doll on the left, arranging it according to the image, and observe the expression.

Left doll: Eyes open, mouth closed. Middle doll: Eyes closed, mouth open. Right doll: Eyes closed, mouth closed.

After opening the box, obtain the “scissors.” Use the scissors to cut the eyes of the two dolls, then take the “eyes” of Samuel and Ida from the table. Place the two eyes in the glass bottle and enter the bottle to proceed to the next level.

Incubation

Click on the sewer entrance at the bottom of the well to make Frank appear. Take the “potato” and “egg” from the table on the far right. Give the potato to Frank to obtain a “flint.” Use the flint to light the candle.

Take the “glass cup” and give it to Albert to obtain “seeds.” Connect the pipes as shown in the image, then place the seeds and egg into the funnel.

Change the pipes to introduce the water tap, and a child will appear. Proceed to the next level.

Click on Rose and select the following options on the Ouija board based on the conversation:

Well 2

Take the “axe” on the left and the “wooden stick” from Rose’s hand. Click on the well to reveal a paper airplane. Then, take the “bug,” “matches,” and “water cup” from the pot on the right side. Use the cup to collect dog urine.

Place the cup in the bucket at the well and lower it to the bottom. Then, place the bug in the trap. Use the axe to chop off the tree branch on the right and take the “wood” inside. After taking the “fish” from the trap, move to the left. Place the wood, wooden stick, and fish in the firewood stack and use the matches to light the firewood. Obtain the “grilled fish” and take the wooden stick. Place the grilled fish in the bucket and lower it to the bottom of the well again. Raise the bucket with the wooden stick, and finally, pull up the bucket to make Frank appear. Proceed to the next level.

Chess

Open the cabinet and take the “chess knight” from inside. Then, take the “knife” from the frame. Use the knife to peel the potato in Frank’s hand and obtain the “chess king.” Place the two chess pieces on the chessboard.

The knight can move in an L-shape, but cannot move on the crossed-out areas.

After completing the first chess game, follow the hint on the frame “CEREBRUM” to complete the chess game. The correct sequence is “32-51-63-42-34-53-45-66.” After completing the game, Frank will strangle Albert. Use the knife to cut off Albert’s “brain” and place it in the glass bottle. Proceed to the next level.

The Last Dance – Rusty Lake : Roots Full Walkthrough & Guide

After opening the cabinet, take the “blue record” from inside. Place the record on the phonograph and play it. Observe the hint on the cabinet “Right Right Left Left Right Right Right Left Left Left Right Right” and make the two characters dance accordingly. Click Frank to move left, and Rose to move right. After completing the dance, obtain the “key” and open the cabinet to obtain the “white record.” Take the “dress” from inside and put it on Rose. Replace the record with the white one.

Follow the hint “Right Right Right Left Right Left Right Left Left Right Right Right” to complete the dance steps. Take the “needle” from the phonograph and prick Rose’s finger to proceed to the next level.

Graveyard

Go to the right and take the “bone” from the dog’s mouth. Click on the grave pit and take the “shovel” from underneath. Use the shovel to dig open the left grave and obtain four “bones.” Then, observe the hint on the password box. Look at the gravestones and calculate the password “2233” (sum of the left-side months, sum of the right-side dates). Enter the password to open the box and obtain a “needle.” Finally, use the needle to open the middle grave and obtain the last “bone.”

Assemble all the bones and take the “pocket watch” from the mouth, then put it around Rose’s neck to proceed to the final level.

Roots

Take the “pocket watches” from the chests of the three characters and place them in their corresponding positions in the darkroom. Open the three pocket watches and obtain the hint “02:45.” Then, go outside and adjust the clocks according to the hint.

After completing the clocks, Rose disappears. Observe the hints on the cabinet and the frame: “SMIEAR,” corresponding to “Eyes, Teeth, Eyes, Tears, Brain, Blood.”

Move the glass bottle in the darkroom to align them on the same horizontal line (the number at the bottom of the bottle is 6). After completing the alignment, combine it with the hint from outside to get the password “535234.” Open the cabinet to obtain the “heart,” then place the heart in the last position to reveal a tree branch. Click on the glass bottle to go to the final scene.

Merge all the items in the shadow, and the game will end.
