Dehya Best Build Guide Genshin Impact

Welcome! This Guide will cover every aspect of Dehya build in Genshin Impact. Talent, Weapons, Artifacts, Constellations, Team Comps, etc.

Dehya Overview – Genshin Impact Guide

“Dehya” is a Pyro element character who enhances the survival ability of teammates on the field. She can use her elemental skill to create the “Fiery Sanctum” field, enhancing the anti-interruption ability of characters on the field and taking on part of their damage when they are injured. When enemies within the field are damaged, “Fiery Sanctum” will launch a coordinated attack, dealing Pyro elemental damage to the enemies. When using her elemental burst, Dehya will automatically unleash her Flame-Mane’s Fists, dealing multiple Pyro elemental damage over a period of time.

Talent Analysis Dehya – Genshin Impact Guide

Talent Priority – Genshin Impact Dehya Guide

Elemental Skill > Elemental Burst > Normal Attack

  • The main focus of Dehya’s skill mechanics is on Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst, with Elemental Skill being particularly important. Upgrading Elemental Skill can improve Dehya’s ability to dissipate damage (this mechanism will be discussed in detail in the Elemental Skill section below), so upgrading Elemental Skill should be the priority when leveling up talents.
  • If Dehya is only used as a support, there is no need to upgrade Normal Attack or Elemental Burst. If he is used as a main DPS character, Elemental Burst should be upgraded, but not Normal Attack.

Normal Attack

Dehya Normal Attack

  • Normal attacks consist of 4 hits and 4 damage instances, utilizing both the sword and martial arts to showcase Dehya’s agile attacking style.
  • The 2nd and 4th hit of the normal attack have a long animation recovery time and slow attack speed.
  • Dehya’s main mechanism is in her Elemental Skill, and her main damaging ability is in her Elemental Burst. Normal attacks have limited use for Dehya and can be considered for not upgrading.

Elemental Skill (E)

Dehya Elemental Skill

This skill is the core of Dyhya’s abilities, with a relatively low damage multiplier, and is mainly used for its skill mechanics.

All attacks in the elemental skill are cause 1 Gauge Unit(1 Pyro particle, 9.5 seconds).

The attacks in the elemental skill (Field Expansion E1, Leap Attack E2) do not generate elemental particles upon hitting enemies, but each subsequent co-op attack will generate 1 Pyro elemental particle upon hitting enemies.

Only when dealing damage to enemies within “Fiery Sanctum field” will co-op attacks be triggered. It cannot be triggered on enemies with shields (Abyss Mages, Abyss Heralds, etc.) or special states that are immune to damage.

Dyhya’s attacks (E1, E2) have a chance to trigger the passive effect of the Sacrificial Greatsword, and the effect will not be triggered if this character is in the background.

The co-op attacks of the elemental skill have a Snapshot mechanism, and the newly created field will be calculated based on Dyhya’s current attributes .

Dehya’s damage mitigation mechanism (Keynote)

  • Xingqiu’s Rain Sword, Beidou’s Thunderbeast’s Targe damage reduction, and the effect of the Qiqi’s 6th Constellation all apply to the same interval and are added together.
  • Unlike the aforementioned three, Dehya’s damage mitigation mechanism directly multiplies the damage dealt by the enemy, for example, if the enemy’s original damage can cause 1000 points of damage, Dehya’s mitigation reduces it by 40%, resulting in the enemy dealing only 600 points of damage (1000 x (1-40%)).
  • Dehya’s maximum single damage mitigation is 200% of his maximum HP. It is not that he will not be able to mitigate damage beyond 200% of his maximum HP when the total damage dealt to all characters on the field exceeds this limit, but rather that he can mitigate each attack he takes as long as it does not exceed 200% of his maximum HP.
  • Damage transferred to Dehya cannot be further reduced by Xingqiu’s Rain Sword or similar damage reduction effects.

There might be confusion here – The two parts of the damage mitigation mechanism are:

Part 1: Mitigating the direct damage inflicted on characters by enemies on the battlefield. This direct damage can be further reduced by the damage reduction effects of characters like Xingqiu and Beidou.

Part 2: The mitigated portion of the damage is transferred to Dehya’s Redmane’s Blood, causing her to gradually bleed. This bleeding damage cannot be further reduced by damage reduction effects from characters like Xingqiu.

Elemental Burst (Q)

Dehya Elemental Burst

  • This skill is the main damage skill for Dyhya’s output. Travelers who want to experience Dyhya’s damage output can choose to upgrade it, while those who focus on functionality can choose not to upgrade this skill.
  • The attacks caused by the elemental burst are all infused with 1 Gauge Unit and follow the rule of “applying elemental infusion every 2 hits on the same enemy within 2.5 seconds”.
  • Using the elemental skill will switch to a different attack mode. At this time, continuing to press the normal attack button or elemental skill button will increase the attack speed of Flame-Mane’s Fists.
  • The continuous punches of Flame-Mane’s Fists during the elemental burst belong to the elemental burst damage and not the normal attack category. This means that they can benefit from equipment that increases elemental burst damage such as the Emblem of Severed Fate set and the Noblesse Oblige set, but not from equipment that increases normal attack damage.
  • This skill cannot trigger the co-op attacks of characters such as Xingqiu, Yelan, and Beidou, as it is neither a normal attack nor normal attack damage.
  • During the output stage of Flame-Mane’s Fists, pressing the directional key can change the attack direction.
  • There is no Snapshot mechanism for Flame-Mane’s Fists during the elemental burst.

Passive Talent

Dehya Passive Talent

  • Dehya’s first Passive talent: After using the elemental skill once, all characters in the party will gain the “Gold-Forged Form” state, which further increases their interruption resistance within the Fiery Sanctum field. Characters under this effect will not be staggered or knocked back by enemy attacks (similar to Raiden Shogun’s elemental burst, Nahida’s aimed shot state, and Eula’s elemental burst).
  • Dehya’s second Passive talent: When Dehya’s health is below 40%, he will recover a certain amount of health. This talent will still take effect when Dehya is off the field. The amount of health restored by this talent can be increased by healing bonuses and healing received bonuses (such as Maiden Beloved/Ocean-Hued Clam artifacts and healing bonus Crown).
  • Dehya is currently the only character with this passive talent. Similar to Rosaria’s talent which increases party members’ movement speed by 10% during the night (from 18:00 to 6:00 the next day).

Weapons – Genshin Impact Dehya Guide

Weapon selection explanation

When choosing a weapon for Dehya, it’s important to first determine his build direction.

For a support-oriented build that focuses on synergizing with other Pyro characters and mitigating damage taken by the team, prioritize increasing Dehya’s maximum Hp to boost his damage mitigation potential.

For a build that prioritizes Dehya’s Burst damage output, focus on stacking stats such as Critical Rate, Elemental Recharge, Attack, and HP.

  • For a support-oriented build, consider weapons such as the Sacrificial Greatsword, Beacon of the Reed Sea, The Bell, Ferrous Shadow, and the Favonius Greatsword. When using the Favonius Greatsword, it’s important to stack a certain amount of Critical Rate.
  • For a Burst damage-oriented build, consider weapons such as the Beacon of the Reed Sea, Wolf’s Gravestone, Redhorn Stonethresher, Akuoumaru, and Luxurious Sea-Lord.
  • When paired with the Beacon of the Reed Sea, even if the foreground character is protected by a shield, as long as Dehya is in the background, the extra HP bonus can still be triggered (shields only apply to foreground characters).
  • Dehya’s Ultimate requires 70 energy, which means that efficient elemental energy recharge is necessary to ensure the loop for ultimate damage output strategies. Weapons like Skyward Pride, Favonius Greatsword, Katsuragikiri Nagamasa, Sacrificial Greatsword, and Forest Regalia can also be considered for their energy recharge capabilities.
  • The Wolf’s Gravestone’s additional bonus to enemies with 30% or less HP, and the weapon passives of the Favonius Greatsword and Sacrificial Greatsword, cannot be triggered when Dehya is in the background. During Dehya’s Ultimate, the Skyward Pride’s vacuum blades cannot be triggered.
  • Regarding the effect of the “The Bell” weapon: when Dehya is in the background, the weapon’s passive effect will not be triggered, and the shield it produces will only apply to the wearer. If Dehya triggers the shield in the foreground and then switches to the background, the shield will disappear (but it will reappear if he switches back to the foreground within the duration of the shield).
  • Regarding the use of the “Serpent Spine”: it can be used for damage output because it has a crit rate bonus after ascension, which can reduce the pressure on Dehya’s crit rate stacking. However, due to Dehya’s damage reduction mechanism, which causes him to take some of the damage that the foreground character receives, the user may lose a stack of the weapon’s passive effect when Dehya takes damage.

Tenacity of the MillelithEmblem of Severed Fate

Substats Priority – Genshin Impact Dehya Guide

Support-oriented: Percentage HP > Others

Ultimate damage-oriented: Critical rate ≥ Critical damage > Elemental recharge efficiency > Percentage HP > Percentage ATK

Artifact selection and attribute explanation – Genshin Impact Dehya Guide

Similar to weapons, first determine the build direction of Dehya – Support-oriented stacking HP; Ultimate damage-oriented stacking recharge, double critical, HP, and ATK; Mastery flow-oriented stacking elemental mastery and HP.

  • For support-oriented Dehya, the recommended artifact set is the Tenacity of the Millelith 4-piece set, which increases the attack power of on-field characters, mainly stacking HP (this gameplay is all about stacking HP).
  • For ultimate damage-oriented Dehya, pay attention to stacking recharge efficiency to ensure the cycle of the ultimate, with recommended recharge level at 200% or above, critical rate at 60% or above, and critical damage at 120% or above.
  • For mastery flow-oriented gameplay, consider the Gilded Dreams 4-piece set and the Flower of Paradise Lost 4-piece set, mainly with grass elements to improve the damage of related reactions.

Comparison of Expected Damage

Comparison of Expected Damage Dehya

【Note】Dehya’s damage output without any constellations is average, but constellations provide a significant increase in her own damage. In the additional content section, damage expectation comparisons have been added, showing that Dehya’s damage output is between 100,000 and 300,000.

Explanation of Constellation Effects – Genshin Impact Dehya Guide

  • After unlocking the first constellation, Dehya’s elemental burst output ability will be greatly improved, and the stacked health will provide further damage enhancement. The enhancement effect of this constellation applies to the basic multiplier range, which can be understood as directly increasing the health multiplier part of Dehya’s skills. For example, the skill multiplier for Flame-Mane’s Fists in level 1 elemental burst is “98.7% ATK + 1.7% max HP”, and after unlocking the first constellation, it becomes “98.7% ATK + (1.7% max HP + 6% max HP).”
  • After unlocking the second constellation, the duration of elemental skill will be extended, and the damage of elemental skill coordinated attacks will be increased. This bonus belongs to the damage increase range and is calculated by adding it to the fire elemental damage bonus.
  • Unlocking the fourth constellation can optimize Dehya’s energy Loop, reducing the charging requirements for her ultimate output.
  • Unlocking the sixth constellation will further improve Dehya’s damage ability, maximizing her ultimate output ability.

Overall, Dehya’s positioning without any constellations is more of a support role, using the coordinated attacks of elemental skills to assist teammates with fire damage reduction and other mechanisms. After unlocking constellations, Dehya’s ultimate output ability will be significantly improved, with the first, second, fourth, and sixth constellations providing good enhancements. Since Dehya will be added to the permanent wish pool in version 3.6, players can choose not to draw constellations. It is recommended for true fans to choose to draw them.

Dehya’s Best Team Comps – Genshin Impact Guide

Combination related to Dendro element reactions

Burning Ganyu Comps

Ganyu, Nahida, Dehya, Bennett

Dehya and Bennett provide double Pyro resonance. Bennett directly increases Ganyu’s attack power and improves her output. Nahida uses her elemental skill to continuously apply Dendro element Aura, triggering Burning reactions with Dehya’s Pyro element, and her elemental burst further increases Ganyu’s Melt reaction damage. Dehya uses his own skill mechanism to improve the characters’ anti-interruption ability on the field. The elemental skill’s damage reduction mechanism is used to improve the character’s fault tolerance, reducing the chance of being directly knocked down by high enemy damage.

Different from the usual Melt Ganyu Comp

  • Compared with the usual melt composition (Ganyu/Xiangling/Zhongli/Bennett), using Dehya’s skill to initiate the pyro resonance and replacing Xiangling with Dehya’s cryo to trigger the area pyro Aura effect, the method of applying pyro Aura is simpler.
  • However, since Zhongli is replaced, the fault tolerance rate for Ganyu to shoot arrows again from the end of Dehya’s “9-second shield” until the next Dehya’s skill is triggered will be very low, so it is recommended to use skills to make up for this period of time.

Recommended output technique

Nahida’s E+Q, Bennett’s Q+E, Dehya’s E, Ganyu’s E followed by charged shots (about 4-6 arrows).

  • For a freeze team, prioritize weapons with critical damage and attack. For artifacts, use 4-piece Blizzard Strayer set and aim for a critical rate between 20-30%.
  • For a melt team, prioritize weapons with both critical rate and critical damage, as well as elemental mastery and percentage attack. For artifacts, use 4-piece Wanderer’s Troupe set and aim for a critical rate between 60-80%.
Nahida Build

dehya comps nahida build

  • Prioritize elemental mastery in the 900-1000 range.
  • If elemental mastery is below 800, prioritize stacking elemental mastery. If it’s above 900, consider stacking critical rate and other stats to increase the damage of the skill.
  • If the team does not have a shield or healing character, consider trying out the prototype Malice.

Kamisato Ayaka Vaporize – Bloom Comps

Kamisato Ayaka + Nahida + Dehya + Bennett

Kamisato Ayaka’s normal attacks after using her skill have a water elemental aura interval, which cannot trigger an elemental reaction every time she attacks. Nahida’s grass elemental aura requires about three Hydro Gauge Units to completely react. At this time, Dehya’s co-attachment with Pyro can trigger the Burgeon element reaction with the Dendro elemental attachment, and can also trigger Burning with the Dendro elemental reaction, allowing Ayaka’s normal attacks to trigger Vaporize reactions.

Bennett and Dehya form a double Pyro resonance, and Bennett’s ult further increases Ayaka’s Hydro elemental damage. Nahida’s elemental burst increases Ayaka’s Vaporize reaction damage.

In this team, Dehya can choose to stack elemental mastery (and also needs to stack health) to increase the damage of the Burgeon element reaction triggered.

Recommended output technique

Nahida EQ, Bennett QE, Dehya E, Ayaka E for output

Kamisato Ayaka Build

Genshin Impact Team Comps Guide Kamisato Ayaka Build

  • Recommended critical rate is 75% or higher. Recommended effective attributes are critical rate, critical damage, and percentage attack.
  • Prioritize upgrading elemental skill, followed by elemental burst. Normal attack level does not affect the damage of normal attacks after using elemental skill.
Bennett Build

Genshin Impact Team Comps Guide bennett build

  • Prioritize weapons with high base attack and energy recharge.
  • For support in a monochrome team, choose the Noblesse Oblige artifact set, and for a reaction-based team, choose the Instructor artifact set.
  • For high-end weapon configurations, you can choose a setup that focuses on increasing critical rate and damage.

Burgeon Comps

Nahida + Xingqiu + Dehya + Other

Nahida uses her normal attacks to trigger Xingqiu’s Rain Swords and apply Hydro Aura. Using Elemental Skill with Dehya to apply Cryo Aura to enemies and then Elemental Skill with Xingqiu to trigger the Burgeon reaction and generate the Dendro Core. The fourth character can be a Anemo element character to deal the damage of Swirl or a healer to improve the overall survivability of the team.

Alternatively, the fourth character can be replaced with Kuki Shinobu to achieve a mixed elemental reaction with four elements, but this approach is more for entertainment purposes.

Note: It is recommended to stack Elemental Mastery on Dehya to increase the damage of the elemental reactions.

Replacing Shield Support Characters

Hu Tao Double Hydro Team

Hu Tao + Xingqiu + Yelan+ Dehya

Replace Dehya with a shield support character in the Hu tao double Hydro team. Xingqiu and Dehya provide different damage reduction effects that can to some extent ensure Hu Tao’s survival. In addition, Xingqiu or Yelan can be replaced with characters like Kaedehara Kazuha or Sucrose, who can increase Hu Tao’s damage output through the application of Elemental Absorption respectively.

This team composition is more of a replacement option for situations where there is no shield support, the shield support character is being used in another team, or where there are enemies like “Shadowy Husk”.

[Note] In addition to the Hu Tao double Hydro team, there are also “Wanderer/Faruzan/Bennett/Dehya” double Pyro teams, which mainly utilize Dehya’s anti-interruption effect to temporarily replace the shield support, and can be used in situations where no shield support is available or where shield support is not recommended (such as against Shadowy Husk).

Recommended output technique

Xingqiu EQE (with Sacrificial Sword), Dehya E, Yelan QE, Sucrose E for output.

Relevant Character Guide:

Hu Tao Build

dehya comps Hu Tao build

  • It is recommended to choose “Gilded Dreams” or “Shimenawa’s Reminiscence” based on the needs of characters and then synthesize them into the three-in-one “Crimson Witch of Flames” artifact set.
  • Hu Tao’s recommended critical hit rate is 70% or higher.
  • Prioritize the HP Clock when paired with “Dragon’s Bane” weapon.
Xingqiu Build

dehya comps Xingqiu build

  • Prioritize Xingqiu’s energy recharge: For a single Hydro character with less than 6 constellations, it is recommended to have an energy recharge of 240% or higher, and for a team with two Hydro characters, it is recommended to have around 210%. After unlocking 6 constellations, it is recommended to have an energy recharge of 200-220% for a single Hydro character and 180-200% for a team with two Hydro characters.
  • Xingqiu’s skill has a long cooldown, so use it first and then wait for it to cool down.
Yelan Build

Genshin Impact Team Comps Guide Yelan Build 1

  • When Yelan has low constellations, it is better to choose weapons with energy recharge, and when her constellations is at 1, it is recommended to choose weapons with double critical.
  • For a Hydro character with 0 constellations, it is recommended to have an energy recharge of 240% or higher for a single character and around 200% for a team with two Hydro characters. For a Hydro character with 1 or more constellations, it is recommended to have an energy recharge of 200% for a single character and 150-180% for a team with two Hydro characters.

Ultimate Output Comps

Dehya, Kaedehara Kazuha, Xiangling/Klee, Bennett

When paired with Klee, Dehya serves more as a backup for output to reduce the chance of her getting interrupted by enemies during her attack. When paired with Xiangling, Dehya can output her own element burst while standing on the field, which is best experienced with high constellations builds.

Note: Besides pure Pyro team, one can also consider replacing Xiangling/Klee with Kaeya (Elemental Absorption) or Mona for some elemental burst attack triggering Melt/Vaporize reactions.

Recommended output technique

Bennett QE, Kazuha EQ, Dehya E, Xiangling/Klee EQ, Dehya Q followed by outputs.

Relevant Character Guide:

Xiangling build

dehya comps Xiangling build

  • It is recommended to have Xiangling’s energy recharge efficiency at around 200% in a team of Electro National team.
  • Her recommended critical hit rate is between 50-65%, and her critical hit damage should be between 120-140%.
  • Prioritize the “Emblem of Severed Fate” 4-piece set and upgrade her elemental burst and skill.
Kazuha build

dehya comps Kaedehara Kazuha build

  • When her energy recharge is below 150%, it is recommended to prioritize using the weapon “Xiphos’ Moonlight”.
  • Prioritize increasing Dyhya’s mastery, then energy recharge, and the weapon “Favonius Sword” needs critical hit rate.
  • If not using a Anemo DMG-based strategy, there is no need to upgrade her skill.

That’s all for this Dyhya character guide. See you next time!
