Prologue: Cabin – Layers of Fear 3 Actor’s Story Walkthrough & Guide
Starting the “Actor’s Story” chapter, you will enter a cruise ship and learn about an actor’s past life.
The content of “Actor’s Story” is very similar to “Layers of Fear 2”.
Go to the director’s cabin, which will be the starting point of each chapter.
Keep an eye out for the wooden ladder here in the cabin, use it to get to the second floor.
There is a screening room on the second floor, where the video tape of the first chapter has been prepared for you.
Pick up the tape, put it in the projector, then pull the projector’s play wheel to watch the episode.
After the plot ends, the first chapter officially begins.
Leave this room and start exploring.
Chapter 1 : The Unmooring – Layers of Fear 3 Actor’s Story Walkthrough & Guide
Explore the cruise ship and follow the only road to go inside.
Pick up a doll from the dinner table, and the story will upgrade after interaction.
Go to the deck level outside the window and you will find a hatch at the end of the road.
You need to unlock the wrench above and below the hatch first, then use the handle in the middle of the door to push the door open.
Arrive at the elevator, open the fence door, enter the elevator, press the button, and the elevator starts to go down.
But on the way, your elevator will break down.
Don’t worry, just activate the elevator button again.
Continue to explore, find a yellow desk, pick up the key in the cabinet.
After going through the stairs, you will come to the communication room.
Interact with the earphones and telegraphs of the communication equipment to upgrade the plot.
Go through a long hallway and pick up a ceramic mask on a table.
Go to the next room, where a globe will appear.
Turn the globe, then look for changes in the surrounding environment, turn repeatedly, and finally brush out the exit door 3 times.
When the globe is damaged, you can use the gate to exit.
Go forward and come to an aisle, where you will encounter a combination lock.
Interact with the nearby birdcage first, and then a lot of debris will fall from the roof. Look towards the roof, and you will find the password number.
You’ll then come to a messy dining room where a dummy is sitting near a table.
Pull the lever on the wall behind him to find the console hidden behind the wall.
Use the console to turn the stage until the empty table opposite the dummy coincides with the chair on the ceiling.
(You can refer to the dotted line of the chair next to the empty table and let the chairs on the ceiling fill in the dotted line)
Next, a door will appear nearby that you can climb through.
You’ll exit here into a hallway with hint lines on the floor.
Follow the route on the floor to explore the corridor, after repeated walking, you will brush out a new path.

Find the X-shaped exit, and before leaving, remember to collect the “Gramophone Interview” in a nearby bedroom.
Continue along the road and come to a big sitcom ship.
After twisting the rudder, you’ll be able to open the wooden door that gives access to the interior of the hull.
Find the key in the box here and open the door to the room.
You will come to a big hallucinogenic ship, pull the bell here, upgrade the map, and then leave the big ship.
When you come across the blackboard, go back the same way.
In the next room, you’ll get the “Torch” tool.
Then there will be a tutorial on how to use the flashlight. You can use the focus function of the flashlight to add animation drama to dynamic (with blurred vision) objects.
This is one of the most important ways to solve puzzles in this series.
Go to the office, use the flashlight to activate the animation scene here, and the plot will escalate.

You can find a movie poster on the wall.
Next, walk through the messy aisles here, and let various dynamic models do their work to clear obstacles in your path.
You’ll then come to a vault entrance room, move the valve, and open the door.
You will then find the safe inside, use the combination you just found on a table (it’s on the safe), and open the safe.
Loot important items from the safe.

Go ahead and in one bedroom you can find a slide from the drawer.
Continue down the corridor and use the flashlight to shine on the person on the other side of the jail bars.
Then you will come to a room with moss.
Pick up the white flower in the bush to go to the next slideshow room.
Pull the slide machine here until the keyframe stays where a door appears.
Use this door on the screen to reach the next piece of cable

Note that at the end of the dead end of this hallway, you can obtain and collect a black movie poster.
Continue walking, past a messy make-up area, to watch a mannequin burn.
Pick up the gun given by the model, and you need to choose which model dummy to kill.
Note that killing different mannequins will result in different game endings.
Go forward along the road, find the model produced in the scene of the oil painting, and make it change its action by turning around.
Finally you will come to a white room.
Next, you’ll plummet down an obscure hallway.
Continue to move forward along the road, use the flashlight to clear the mannequins encountered along the way.
You will encounter the evil spirit in this place, use the flashlight to temporarily freeze it, and then run to find the exit ahead.
After some hard work, you will be free from evil spirits.
In the closed bottom position, you can find the video tape of the second chapter, pick it up and return to the director’s room.
Mystery Item (Cruise Ship)
Once in the director’s office, don’t forget to use the binoculars on the second floor to find the mysterious item in the ocean (Cruise Ship ) before starting the next chapter.
Chapter 2 : The Hunt – Layers of Fear 3 Actor’s Story Walkthrough & Guide
After the start of this chapter, you still need to explore along a fixed route.
Find the trapped mannequin, use the flashlight to make it move and pick up the key it is holding.
Next, you will be chased by evil spirits, run towards the exit, find an elevator shaft and jump down.
You will come to a steam room, where the puzzle solving is relatively simple.
First, pay attention to the scale on the steam valve, find the position marked with “X”, and pull the lever to that position.
Then find the socket in the control room, unplug it and plug it into the jack on the other side.
Finally, pull down the switch , and you will get an iron ladder to reach the second floor.
Go through the path, squeeze through the giant equipment here, find the iron ladder and climb up.
Next you need to close the first steam valve you come across on your way.

At the turn around this valve not far ahead, go first to the right and collect a slide there.
Go through a kitchen with items hanging in the air, and after a hallway turn, continue to face the path of steam.
Use focus of the flashlight to let the mannequin solve all kinds of steam getting in the way.

At the end of the road, you will find the electricity facilities here.
After pressing the button here, go through the electric barrier ahead to find the mystery item.
(This item can only be obtained in “New Game +” mode)
Arrive at the next screening room, change the frames of the slideshow, first swipe out the door, then swipe out the lock, and finally swipe out the key.
This will open the wall door.
Next you will arrive at the crew lounge.
Complete the mannequin action scene here, then flip the blackboard next to it to get the code.

In the next hallway, close the valve and loot the movie poster in the nearby room.
Finally came to a large room, and there was a little boy on the chest.
You can open the cabinet door and jump into the well in the distance.
You will come to a steam workshop, first go to the room on the left side of the road, and complete the gear splicing puzzle here.
(The puzzle solving method is very simple, you can choose to move the inner or outer ring of the gear from the button on the left, and the two joysticks on the right can control the clockwise or counterclockwise rotation of the gear)
After solving the gear puzzle, return to the initial position, find the dial on the right, and complete the digital puzzle here.
(This puzzle is also very simple. A reference number will appear on the upper right side of the dial. You need to use several numbers on the dial to add up to this number. You need to complete this addition problem 3 times, each time Each number on the dial can only be used once)
After solving the puzzle of the dial, pick up the lilies on the nearby road.
Use the lift next to it to get downstairs.
Once inside the room, use the lily on the mannequin and it will burn and destroy itself.
Leave here and return to the workshop, the door far from the workshop will open.
Continue to walk forward and meet a model illuminated by lights. After interaction, you will be chased by demons.
Quickly use the flashlight to drive away the models on the way and run towards the exit.
Next, go to the warehouse and find the items on the ground to interact with.
Reach the second floor of the warehouse and continue exploring until you enter the elevator.
You will come to a path with green apples on it, follow the path.
Find a shiny white cup and follow it to continue walking.
Immediately after a horrible atmosphere, reach the place with light and fan blades, and wait for the light to hit the wall.
Look closely at the walls to find the exit when the light hits it at a certain moment.
After a short walk, you’ll come to a hallway that’s on fire.
After passing through a narrow aisle, pull the air valve so that its scale is in the position marked by X.
Pass the furnace room, where you will encounter monsters.
After freezing it quickly, use the flashlight to drive away the models on the way.
When you come to a higher floor, the chase does not end, find a new way to escape.

Eventually you’ll come to an auditorium and start playing the slides in the projector.
When the baby crawls to the right and a square object appears on the ground, pick up the slide near the stage.
The baby was then crawled to the left until a black light block appeared on the screen.
Squeeze into the ventilation duct formed by the light block.
You’ll come to a burnt boiler room, pick up the rat that fills up the left side.
Then enter the next room, put the mouse into the next balance, and the plot is upgraded.
When you come to the next screening room, you need to make a choice whether to take back the meat from the vicious dog.
Note that if you try to get the meat back, it will take several attempts to succeed. In addition, you can also choose to give up.
No matter what choice you make, the plot will progresses smoothly.

Continue to explore forward, enter the cabin corridor, pay attention to the boy at the end of the corridor, you can find a movie comic in the room to his left.
Next you’ll go to the ship’s treasure room and climb up to the top of the treasure pile, where a huge change will take place.
Return again to a room full of gauges.
Heading down the hallway, you’ll pass through a series of fire-breathing rooms.
Using a nearby mannequin can block some windows to prevent them from being burned by the fire.
Enter a building through an area of flames.

Just after entering the building, keep an eye out for the room on the right.
In this room, you can get a movie poster.
Enter a large room inside the building and look for nearby items to interact with.
Then find the wooden ladder to go upstairs.
After reaching the top of the building, according to the rule of flames here, quickly reach the opposite building.
In the next room, first draw the drapes, then put the electric plug in the bathtub.
This will make the mannequin in the bathtub disappear, after which you can get the key from the bathtub and leave the room.
In the end, you will be chased by monsters again, fleeing quickly to the exit.
Pick up the videotape for the next chapter in the warehouse and get out of here.

After returning to the cabin, use the binoculars to view the sea surface in the far left area.
You will find a watch in a cage, collect this item.
Chapter 3 : Bloody Roots – Layers of Fear 3 Actor’s Story Walkthrough & Guide
The entrance to this section is on the floor in front of the slide curtain.
In this chapter you will come to a twisted house.
First pick up the kitchen key on the table downstairs, then open the kitchen door.
Solving puzzles in the kitchen is relatively easy, you need to find 3 models’ bodies first.
First piece: head
Second piece: arm
The third piece: the heart
After collecting them, put them into the iron pot, and the exit door in the distance will refresh.
Follow the bridge over the projection room roof to find the bedroom key on the air duct at the end and enter the air duct.
Then go through the repeating section and go back to the house again, this time you can open the bedroom door.

In a drawer in the bedroom, there is a collection of slides.
Play the projector in the bedroom and pick up the scary teeth in the man’s mouth on the screen.
Put this set of teeth on the crawling mannequin on the bedroom bed first.
At this time, the house will undergo some changes, and there will be playing cards at the curtain, and you can pick up one of the playing cards.
Take that set of scary teeth and attach it to the plaster man head nearby.
A pair of gamblers playing cards will appear near the projection screen, and you can put the poker cards you just got into the hands of the gamblers on the left.
This way he will win the hand, use this opportunity to pick up the necklace in the box next to the gambler on the right.
Putting horror teeth on the crawling mannequin’s head on the bed again, brushing out the playing card scene and the necklace neck wrap.
Put the necklace into the neck sleeve.
Finally, stick the horror tooth to a white cloth near the bed.
At this point you will successfully complete the puzzle solving of this room.
After leaving the room, go to the ventilation duct of the flyover at the top of the auditorium again, and pick up the key to the basement.

Before entering the basement, you can first look out for a door in the room that can be opened without using a key.
In this room, you can collect a movie poster.
(This movie poster can only be collected during this time period.)
Enter the basement, the puzzle of this room will be slightly more complicated.
You need to find all the mannequin heads in this room, rotate the heads, remove them and drop them into the chest.
Every time a head is thrown into the wooden box, the surrounding environment will undergo some changes.
After finding all the heads, the plot progresses.
(Note, you may encounter a BUG at the last avatar, you cannot throw the head into the box, you can try to reload the game)

Next, head back to the flyover hallway in the screening room, and look out for the chest at the end of the flyover before picking up the kids room key.
At this time, a movie poster will appear here.
Collect the children’s room key on the air duct, get into the air duct, and return to the house again.
Pick up the wooden toy gun in the house, and then you will see a scene.
You need to choose to shoot down the kidnapped child or the two puppets next to you.
(This choice will affect the ending of the game, please refer to the section on how to achieve the ending of the game for details)
No matter which ending you choose, you will return to the real children’s room again.
Find a nearby ventilation duct and get out of the children’s room.
You’ll go back to the high flyover in the auditorium again, this time to pick up the office key.

In your office desk drawer, you can find a slideshow.
This time you need to find the 3 rocket devices in the office first.

After installing all the rocket devices, press the button on the wall and observe the rocket cabin.
When you’re in the rocket pod view, move the camera left and right to avoid meteorites.
Eventually you’ll reach a star field of alien silhouettes.
The exploration of the office ends here, leave the room, go to the flyover in the projection hall again, and pick up the bathroom key at the ventilation duct.
Turn on the bathroom faucet and look into the nearby mirror.
You’ll come to a long corridor with keyholes in some rooms that can be investigated.
Enter the room in the keyhole and start solving the puzzles here.
The solution to the puzzle is simple:
1. Turning on one faucet will cause “drizzle” weather, and turning on two faucets will cause “flood”.
2. Turn on the fan to generate “strong wind”, and turn off the fan to “no wind”.
3. Turn on the radio for “sunshine” and turn it off for “no sunlight”.
A flowerpot in front of the light, after each click, the seeds will grow taller.
However, seeds will be affected by the environment during different growth processes, such as wind, rain, sunlight, etc.
All you need to do is to keep changing these environmental factors and let the seeds grow into saplings.
Once you’re done exploring, you’ll arrive at a night jungle.
Upon first entering the jungle, you’ll encounter a strange statue with a puzzle device nearby.

The puzzle solving method is very simple, you need to change the state of the 12 holes on the puzzle board so that all of them are in the “open” state.
After solving the puzzle, you can get a mystery item on a nearby bench.
Keep going, and you will come to a maze of woods.
Pay attention to the rule of flame cruise, and quickly find the exit to leave here.
In the process, you can choose some tree holes where you can take refuge and avoid the flames.
Finally you will find a stele, pick up the flower on the stele.

Then you will come to a room with a fat man in a wheelchair.
In a drawer next to him, a tape-recorded interview can be found.

Keep going, and around a corner, you can find a movie promotional poster.
Enter the auditorium’s ventilation ducts again, and this time you’ll find the videotape for the next chapter.
The actor’s story has temporarily come to an end.
You will wake up from a room in the tower.
Leave the room to explore and you will suddenly appear on the tower.
Pick up the ring inside the lighthouse to upgrade the plot.
Go back down the lighthouse and you’ll hear a phone call, but the phone seems to be gone.
Investigate nearby rooms, and you’ll hear a door open.
Enter this room and examine the pictures on the wall, after which it will become a puppet.
After listening to the call, the plot progresses.
Next you’ll come to a large ballroom and make your way through a series of shipwreck scenes.
When I came to the hall of actors again, I encountered that strange photo.
You will return to the lighthouse and continue to pick up the items in the hands of the puppet on the wall.
Return to your own room, interact with the typewriter, and finish the rest of the work.
In this way, you will return to the plot of “The Actor’s Story”.
Before starting a new chapter, don’t forget to interact with the telescope on the second floor of the cabin.
Collect new “Pirate Ship” items that appear on the sea.
Chapter 4: Breathing
You will start this chapter from the galley cabin of the cruise ship.

Keep exploring until you enter the storage room, and look out for movie posters on the wall on the innermost shelf of the storage room.
After leaving the kitchen area, use the steps to reach the next area.
On the way you will meet the ghost boy.

After entering the next floor, keep an eye out for a tool table here, and pick up the gramophone interview in the drawer.
Continue to go forward, through a pipeline corridor, here will trigger a battle with the monster, quickly freeze it, then turn your head and walk backwards.
Next, you will come to an upside-down red room, twist the rotating blackboard here, and the plot will proceed.

Go to the next room and use the flashlight to activate the pianist to pick up the slide in his hand.
Entering a cave tunnel, you will again be chased by monsters.

When the monster stops chasing, remember to cover a coffin lid near the stairs, and then on the small stool next to the stairs, you can get a slide collection.
Go through a corridor of black lights, and then arrive at a phonograph room.
Turn the phonograph here, and the plot advances.
After passing through a corridor chased by monsters, entering a red room, and interacting with the radio here, the plot advances again.
Next you’ll come to a weird room with models standing on stools.
Look for nearby tables, chairs, drawers and fruits on the ground, crush them, and the room will be covered in red again.
You will successfully come to the next area, use the flashlight to activate the mannequin here, and get a new road.
At the end of the road, you will be stopped by a group of mannequins, you will not be able to move forward, you can only move backwards.

Enter the next bloody white corridor, look out for the movie posters around the corner and collect them.
Then you’ll go to the theater and play the slide projector here until you get a light on a lighthouse.
After entering the screen area, you will come directly to a beach.
Follow the light from the lighthouse and look for interactive items on nearby stones.
Then there will be many mannequins in this area, pick up the hearts on them.
Finally, enter the door at the bottom of the lighthouse.
A birdcage can be found inside the lighthouse, head up the nearby wooden ladder.
Finally when the scene changes, pick up all the white flowers on the beach.
You will return to the hallway and follow the prompts of the mannequins here.
Open the red curtain here and pick up the key.
Next, you will continue through a series of ocean, wilderness, mountain and other cutscenes.

When the scene is over, don’t forget to pick up the movie poster near the curtain.
Entering the next scene, you will see two mannequins playing chess. After using the flashlight to interact, pick up the task items in the nearby box.
After going through a narrow tunnel, you’ll come to an area of stranded ships.
A total of 5 mouse cages can be found here, and you can choose whether to release them or not.
(This will allow you to unlock an achievement, but will not affect the main storyline of the game)
First location: Interact with the weird headgear on the table, then unlock the mouse cage on the floor.
The second place: Interact with the two TVs in the room, and then you can get the parts of the corresponding dummy.
Put these parts into the balance and bring the balance into balance.
Third location: Interact with the white puppet bear on the bed to open the nearby mouse cage.
Fourth location: After interacting with the red cloth on the bed, you can open the nearby mouse cage.
Fifth place: Interact with the mannequin on the bed, and then you can open the nearby mouse cage.
After completing the above collection, go to the higher freighter.
Keep an eye out for the wooden ladder here, which you can use to get inside the freighter.
Next you’ll go to the bottom of the ocean and expose yourself to as much light as possible.
But this light will gradually dim, you need to find some cannons, and get new light by firing cannonballs.
Finally return to the distant hull again.
In the cabin, you’ll find a videotape of the last chapter.
Go through the next area, there will be a lot of rats here.
You need to complete the puzzles here to proceed.
Interact with the cat’s eye behind the mouse statue, and you’ll enter inside the mouse statue.
The puzzle-solving method here is very simple, you need to find the 3 little white mice in this bookcase.
Move their bodies so that the light shines on the rats.
Note that some of the light from the mice will be blocked by the drapes, you will need to open the drapes first.

The final large rat statue will turn into a mystery item.
After completing the puzzle solving here, you will leave the shipwreck scene, and when you pass through a cabin road, this chapter ends successfully.

Before starting the next chapter, don’t forget to use the telescope on the second floor of the safe house to collect items (shoes) on the sea.
Chapter 5: Forever
After this chapter starts, first you will come to a circular hall.
After flipping the drawing board here several times, the plot is advances and a new path is obtained.

After a while, reach the lift entrance, on the nearby wall, you can collect a movie poster.
Get into the nearby elevator to reach the next destination.
Interact with an item here, the plot advances, return to the elevator, and continue to move forward.
Eventually you’ll reach an area with mannequins, use your flashlight to activate some of the dummies inside, and walk forward slowly.
After a long underwater road, you will encounter a monster at the end of a corridor, and quickly turn around and walk backwards.
Find a slide machine, switch slides to special scenes, and you’ll get new paths.

Continue to go forward until you come to an iron fence door, and you can find a box nearby, collect the slides inside.
Move the arm of the dummy at the intersection to reach the next area.

In this aisle full of dummies, you’ll hear some gunshots, keep an eye out for a movie poster here.
Next you will come to a rudder puzzle.
The solution to the puzzle is simple, turn the rudder until the valve leaks a blue-green light, which will unlock one of the catches.
After solving all three sets of snaps, the door opens.

Enter a room full of fruit flying, search all the rooms carefully, you will find a movie poster.

Keep going until you come to a small boat, and keep an eye out for a box to the right of the dummy.
Collect the interview tape from the chest.
Keep going forward and you will encounter monsters chasing, use the flashlight to quickly move obstacles in the crowd of models.
Use the stairs to reach a higher room, turn on the phonograph here, and the plot is advances again.
Go to the next room with a portrait photo.
You’ll watch the end of the game here.
The final plot will vary depending on the choices you make in each chapter of the game.

When you get back to the cabin, don’t forget to collect the last item (photo album) from the telescope on the second floor of the safe house.
When the “Actor’s Story” chapters are all over, you’ll return to the Lighthouse.
