Candace’s Talent Priority – Genshin Impact Candace Guide
Elemental Burst > Elemental Skill > Normal Attack
Normal Attack
Candace is more focused on support and utility, usually used for quick switching, and you can choose not to upgrade her normal attacks.
Elemental Skill (E)
Similar to Yun Jin’s Elemental Skill, it will cause different damage in different situations, but unlike Yun Jin, it is calculated based on the maximum HP instead of defense.
Both tap and hold will apply weak Hydro element aura to enemies (9.5s).
Successfully evading enemy attacks while using the skill will generate 2 Hydro particles, and counterattacking after being hit will generate 3 Hydro particles.
Elemental Burst (Q)
There are two conditions for getting the damage bonus – dealing Elemental damage through Normal Attacks.
- Non-Normal Attack Plunge Attacks cannot trigger the bonus damage. For example, the Plunge Attacks after Raiden Shogun’s Burst do not count as Normal Attacks.
- Normal Attacks after using Elemental Skills, such as with Tartaglia, Yoimiya, or Ayaka, are considered Normal Attacks and can receive the bonus.
- Normal Attacks after using Elemental Burst with Noelle, Xiao, Arataki Itto, or Cyno are considered Normal Attacks and can receive the bonus, but Heavy Attacks and plunging Attacks cannot.
The damage bonus falls under the same calculation as the Elemental Damage Bonus.
Up to 3 Hydro waves can be generated by switching characters after using the Burst.
The Hydro Elemental Enchantment applied cannot override the elemental conversion brought by some characters’ skills (such as Hu Tao, Xiao, Noelle, Itto, or Cyno).
The Burst’s damage is all weak Hydro element Aura(for 9.5s).
Passive Talent
Passive Talent 1: Similar to the passive talent of Yun Jin and Beidou, the first attack after using Elemental Skill will deal the highest damage. Passive Talent 2: SIt stacks additively with the damage bonus provided by Candace’s Elemental Burst
Candace’s Best Weapon Choice – Genshin Impact Candace Guide
Rotation Priority Weapon recommendations
Cross Spear and Favonius Lance
Both weapons are recommended for high refinement level. The passive effects of Kitain Cross Spear and Favonius Lance can optimize Candace’s Elemental Burst rotation as the refinement level increases.
HP Priority Weapon recommendations
Black Tassel (sub-stat 46.9% HP) and Staff of Homa (refinement 1 passive effect 20% HP)
If the energy recharge of artifacts is higher than 220%, or if there are other Hydro element characters in the team, you can consider using weapons with HP sub-stats to increase the damage bonus effect of Candace’s Elemental Burst.
Staff of Homa is more luxurious and is recommended to be prioritized for other damage-dealing characters.
Other energy recharge options: Engulfing Lightning, Skyward Spine, The Catch, and Prototype Starglitter
Candace’s Best Artifact Recommendation- Genshin Impact Candace Guide
Artifact selection – Genshin Impact Candace Guide
Artifact set recommendations: 2-piece Tenacity of the Millelith and 2-piece Emblem of Severed Fate, or 4-piece Noblesse Oblige, etc.
Tenacity of the Millelith 2-piece set increases the damage bonus of Candace’s burst, while Emblem of Severed Fate 2-piece set increases energy recharge efficiency to optimize the activation of the burst.
The Noblesse Oblige 4-piece set is more suitable for supporting other characters in the team whose base attribute is “ATK”. Only one character in the team use it is enough.
Stats Priority – Genshin Impact Candace Guide
The Clock:
Main stat 1: Energy Recharge (to optimize the Elemental Burst rotation)
Sub-stats: Energy Recharge, Crit Rate (Favonius Lance)
Main stat 2: HP% (to increase damage bonus of Elemental Burst)
Sub-stats: Energy Recharge, Crit Rate (Favonius Lance)
The Cup:
Main stat: HP%
Sub-stats: Energy Recharge, Crit Rate (Favonius Lance)
The Crown:
Main stat 1: HP% Sub-stats: Energy Recharge, Crit Rate (Favonius Lance)
Main stat 2: Crit Rate (can be chosen when using Rust) Sub-stats: HP%, Energy Recharge
When cultivating Candace as a support character, use the sub-stat combinations in the figure above. If you want to experience Candace’s counterattack damage from her skill, focusing on stacking HP and Crit Rate.
For a single Hydro character, energy recharge is recommended to be around 220%, and for double Hydro characters, energy recharge is recommended to be around 180%. When using Favonius Lance, you can stack more Crit Rate (around 50%).
Candace’s Constellation Effects Guide in Genshin Impact
Candace’s Constellation – Genshin Impact Guide
Explanation of Constellation Effects – Genshin Impact Candace Guide
1st constellation: extends the duration of the Elemental Burst from 9 seconds to 12 seconds; 2nd constellation: increases Candace’s HP, thus increasing the damage bonus effect of the Elemental Burst; 3rd and 5th constellations: increase the level of the Elemental Burst and the skill respectively; 4th constellation: makes the cooldown time of the skill equal.
6th constellation: Every time Hydro damage is dealt, an Elemental aura is applied, and it is a Weak Hydro Elemental aura(1 gauge unit, 9.5 seconds).
Candace’s Best Team Comps – Genshin Impact Guide
Candace’ Elemental Burst can provide additional damage bonus to characters whose normal attacks deal elemental damage (such as Ayato, Yoimiya, and Noelle), so it can be paired with characters that primarily use normal attacks as their main damage output.
Arataki Itto and Xiao are mainly focused on using charged attacks and plunging attacks as their means of output, so when paired with Candace, only normal attacks can benefit from her abilities.
Pairing with Ayato
Kamisato Ayato+ Candace + Zhongli + Yun Jin
Kamisato Ayato and Candace form a double Hydro elemental resonance, increasing maximum HP while simultaneously enhancing Ayato’s damage and Candace’ burst’s damage bonus effect.
In this team composition, Candace is more of a lower-tier substitute for “Ayato / Yelan / Kazuha / Zhongli” pure Hydro combination and can be used when Yelan and Kazuha are not available or are paired with other team compositions.
Ayato’s normal attacks after activating his Elemental Skill can benefit from Candace’ damage bonus, while Zhongli provides a shield and reduces enemy resistance.
As mentioned earlier, Candace’ and Yun Jin’s amplification effects have different ranges of action, so they can be used together.
Pairing with Yoimiya
Yoimiya + Xingqiu + Candace + Zhongli/Bennett
Xingqiu provides a stable way to apply Hydro aura off field, which pairs well with Yoimiya to trigger Vaporize reactions. Candace enhances Yoimiya’s normal attacks after she activates her Elemental Skill, while Zhongli provides a shield and reduces enemy resistance. Alternatively, Bennett can be used to provide additional attack power and form a double Pyro elemental resonance with Yoimiya to further increase her attack power (note that when using Bennett, Yoimiya’s normal attacks may be interrupted if she does not have a shield).
Pairing with Cyno
Cyno is mainly paired with teams that focus on triggering Catalyze reactions. However, due to the nature of Catalyze reactions, the presence of Hydro elements will cause the original Catalyze state to end prematurely. If Candace is paired with Cyno in an Catalyze team, it will affect the Catalyze reaction.
Furthermore, Cyno itself is an energy-intensive character (requiring 80 energy), so it needs to stay on the field continuously to activate its abilities. In addition, the current Catalyze team needs to have a Dendro character to trigger the reaction, and it may need to stop to recover energy after one cycle. If Candace is used in such a team, which also requires her ultimate to be activated, it will increase the energy consumption of the entire team, making it less ideal to use Candace in a Cyno team.
That’s all for this Candace character guide. See you next time!
