Nilou Character Overview – Genshin Impact Guide

Nilou’s Talent Analysis – Genshin Impact Guide

Nilou’s Talent Priority – Genshin Impact Nilou Guide

Elemental Skill > Elemental Burst > Normal Attack

[Note] As a 0 constellation Bloom supporter Nilou, if the substats of the artifacts do not stack Double Crit, you can choose not to level up the skill.

Normal Attack

Genshin Impact Guide Nilou Normal Attack

Nilou’s Hydro elemental damage comes from her Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst, which have a lower priority than her Skill and Burst.

Elemental Skill (E)

Genshin Impact Guide Nilou Elemental Skill

After using the Elemental Skill, a “Dance Step” marker will appear above Nilou’s head. Pressing the normal attack button for the third time will enter the “Sword Dance ” state, and pressing the skill button will enter the “Whirling Steps” state.

Regardless of Sword Dance Step or Whirling Steps, their damage is considered Elemental Skill damage and cannot benefit from the effects of Normal Attack damage-boosting equipment such as the Hydro Set 4, Gladiator Set 4, Black Sword, etc.

Sword Dance Step’s normal attack can trigger the coordinated attack of Kokomi’s or Yelan’s Elemental Burst but cannot trigger Beidou’s Elemental Burst.

Sprinting or jumping cannot reset the number of Sword Dance Step’s attack stages. If you sprint or jump after the first stage of Sword Dance Step, the next stage will still be the second stage of Sword Dance Step.

When the Skill hits an enemy, 1-2 Hydro elemental particles are produced, and each of the next three attacks (either Normal or Skill attacks) will produce 1 Hydro elemental particle.

The Hydro damage in the Skill is all attached with Weak Hydro Element (9.5s), and the Whirling Steps will apply Weak Hydro Element aura (9.5s) once every 2 seconds.

Elemental Burst (Q)

Genshin Impact Guide Nilou Elemental burst

Elemental Burst is divided into two stages of damage, and both attacks can apply Weak Hydro Element aura(9.5s).

Passive Talent

Genshin Impact Guide Nilou passive talent

When there are characters in the team who have elemental attributes other than Hydro or Dendro, this talent will be ineffective.

The damage of the Bountiful Core is still the Bloom reaction (Hydro-Dendro), that is, the damage of the Transformative Reactions.

[Key point] Analysis of Passive Talent 2 mechanism

After Nilou triggers the effect of Passive Talent 1 , the Dendro core produced by the Hydro-Dendro reaction triggered by characters in the team will be transformed into Bountiful Core.

After Nilou’s talent is triggered, the damage of Bountiful Core depends on the character’s Elemental Mastery and Level, the enemy’s Dendro Element resistance, and Nilou’s maximum HP.

Weapon selection explanation

0 Constellation Recommended Gameplay focuses on stacking HP as the main strategy. It is recommended to choose the “Key of Khai-Nisut” weapon, followed by the “Sacrificial Sword”, “Sapwood Blade”, “Freedom-Sworn”, and “Xiphos’ Moonlight” (requires high Elemental Mastery) for optimizing support capabilities.

“Primordial Jade Cutter” is useful in Hydro damage gameplay, mainly utilizing its passive bonuses to HP and critical rate.

After triggering the “Sacrificial Sword” weapon with the “Whirling Steps” skill, the “Sword Dance” skill can be used again.

The “Freedom-Sworn” weapon is recommended for use with characters who rely on normal/charged/plunging attacks for output, while the “Xiphos’ Moonlight” weapon requires stacking HP as the main stat and as many Elemental Mastery secondary stats as possible.

Hydro damage gameplay can choose weapons that increase skill Hydro damage or weapons with passive effects that increase skill damage.

Nilou’s Best Artifact Recommendation- Genshin Impact Nilou Guide

Nilou’s Recommended Artifact – Genshin Impact Nilou Guide

Artifact Selection:

Set: 2-Piece Tenacity of the Millelith + 2 Other Pieces

Other 2-Piece Sets: 2-Piece Tenacity of the Millelith, 2-Piece Mastery, 2-Piece Heart of Depth (increases Hydro damage by 15%)

[Note] As a 0 constellation Bloom supporter Nilou, the focus is on stacking HP, so the preferred set is 2-Piece Tenacity of the Millelith.

For Hydro damage gameplay, it is recommended to choose the 2-Piece Heart of Depth set. However, the “Nilou’s Sword Dance” skill cannot receive the 4-Piece bonus from this set.

Stats Priority – Genshin Impact Nilou Guide

As a 0 constellation Bloom supporter Nilou, the main focus is on support, so the main stat should be HP and double critical is not necessary.

For Hydro damage gameplay, a Hydro damage Cup and double critical Crown can be chosen, but it is more recommended to experience 6 Constellation and prioritize HP stacking as the main stat for the 0 Constellation gameplay.

For 6 Constellation, a combination of a HP Clock, Hydro damage Cup, and HP Crown can be chosen, and double critical can be stacked on secondary stats.

Nilou’s Constellation Effects Guide in Genshin Impact

Damage Expectation Percentage Comparison

Genshin Impact Guide Nilou Constellation Comparison

Explanation of Constellation Effects – Genshin Impact Nilou Guide

For the Constellations, 1 Constellation increases the duration of “Tranquility Aura” to 18 seconds, allowing for continuous Hydro aura application. 2 Constellations can decrease enemies’ Hydro and Cryo resistance, increasing the team’s Hydro and Cryo damage and Elemental Reaction damage. 3 and 5 Constellations increase the level of the Burst and Skill respectively. 4 Constellation optimizes the rotation of Nilou’s burst and increases Burst damage. 6 Constellation allows for stacking HP to increase Elemental Reaction damage and double critical to increase Hydro damage.

Overall, for the Bloom support Nilou gameplay, unlocking up to 2 Constellations is sufficient, but 0 Constellation is already a complete mechanism. For players who want to experience Hydro damage gameplay, 6 Constellations are recommended. For low Constellation Nilou, it is more recommended to choose the easy-to-cultivate Bloom support gameplay (just stack HP).

[Additional Information] Nilou’s Constellations increase her own Hydro damage percentage.

Nilou’s Best Team Comps – Genshin Impact Guide

Nilou’s passive talent mechanism makes her gameplay more inclined towards the bloom supporter role, and her talent 1 will be disabled when there are other non-Hydro or non-Dendro characters in the team. Therefore, when used as a bloom supporter, the team can only have Hydro or Dendro characters.

Bloom supporter Gameplay – Double Hydro, Double Dendro – Genshin Impact Guide

Traveler(Dendro) + Collei + Kokomi + Nilou

Kokomi’s elemental skill applies weak Hydro aura every 2 seconds, which triggers the original bloom (Hydro-Dendro) reaction with Nilou’s elemental skill, such as Whirling Steps (which also applies weak Hydro aura every 2 seconds), and Traveler(Dendro) and Collei. When Nilou’s passive talent is triggered, subsequent Dendro core produced by the team will be transformed into Bountiful Core (see talent analysis above for details).

[Equipment Selection]

  1. Either Traveler(Dendro) or Collei uses the Deepwood Memories (Dendro set) 4-piece set, and the other Dendro character can use the Instructor 4-piece set or the Gilded Dreams 4-piece set. Kokomi still chooses the Ocean-Hued Clam 4-piece set.
  2. Traveler(Dendro)’s energy recharge efficiency is recommended to be around 180-200%, and Collei’s energy recharge efficiency is recommended to be around 160-180%.
  3. Traveler(Dendro) and Collei should choose Clock and Crown with mastery stats, while Nilou and Kokomi should stack Mastery sub-stats appropriately.

[Reference Output rotation]

Traveler(Dendro) E + Q + Kokomi E + Nilou E + 3 E (the third hit of the elemental skill produces a Tranquility Aura) + Collei E +Q + Kokomi Q + normal attacks

[Additional Information]

There are currently not much Dendro characters, and Tighnari is more commonly used in the Catalyze team. Therefore, the two Dendro characters are usually Traveler(Dendro) and Collei.

If Kokomi is not available, then the team’s reaction rotation needs to be considered. If Barbara is chosen, Nilou can use the Sacrificial Sword to trigger Whirling Steps after using her elemental skill.

It is not recommended to pair Ayato with the existing Nilou Hydro-Dendro team. If only one Dendro character is used, the frequency of Dendro aura applied will be low, and the utilization rate of support will be low. Without a healing character in the team, the team’s fault tolerance will be reduced.

Note: The following gameplay contradicts Nilou’s passive talent mechanism, which will cause her passive talent to be disabled. It is more recommended for Nilou fans or high constellation Nilou to choose these gameplay strategies.

Vaporize Gameplay – Genshin Impact

Nilou + Xiangling + Bennett + Kazuha

This gameplay uses Nilou’s elemental skill as Sword Dance and combines it with Xiangling to trigger Vaporize reactions. However, Bennett’s amplification effect is not related to Nilou.

Freeze Team

Nilou’s Tranquility Aura can be used to support Hydro characters to trigger freeze reactions, but it may not be necessary to use her solely as a support for freeze reactions.

That’s all for this Nilou character guide. See you next time!
